In the past year I have received two DAISY Award nominations from patients during hospitalization. The DAISY Foundation created this award in memory of a loved one as "A thank you to extraordinary nurses."
Upon discharge, patients can fill out a satisfaction survey with the option to name any staff members that were particularly helpful. I have received named recognition in the following months: November 2017, January 2018, February 2018, and October 2018.

“Neil was a great instructor for this material. Made everything very understandable.”
“Neil was very patient and encouraging.”
“It was great to have Neil as an instructor because he knew exactly what nurses would need and expect from Epic.”
